"Bitter Bliss" was a project aimed at developing the branding for an emerging beer company. Using a dynamic three-colour illustration, the objective was to create a modern and engaging visual identity geared towards a younger, more adventurous demographic. This design seamlessly merges bold aesthetics with youthful energy to capture the essence of the brand.
This can design showcases bold and captivating elements that demand attention, no matter how you look at it. With a stark white background, chunky wordmarks, and dynamic graphic elements, it's guaranteed to stand out on any shelf. Its eye-catching design is intentional – it's all about making an impact.
The 'eye-catching' element on this can draws inspiration from Japanese manga and anime, perfectly suited for the young, vibrant audience targeted by this simulated beer brand. To optimise printing costs and processes, we limited the colour palette to just three shades: pink, purple, and black. This not only keeps costs in check but also adds a unique visual dimension to the design.
In this project, I took an unconventional approach by designing the can to be read and viewed horizontally. This deliberate choice enhances the product's distinctiveness on store shelves. Furthermore, it introduces an element of interactivity as customers can hold the can up over their eyes, creating a unique social media photo opportunity.
